Bruning & Associates, P.C. attorney Melissa-Ann Bruett was recently awarded the Daily Herald Readers’ Choice “Top Picks” award for “Best Lawyer.” More than 44,000 ballots and votes were received by the Daily Herald for the Readers’ Choice award nominees. The Readers’ Choice winners for the “Best of the Best – Top Picks” were those individual professionals that distinguished themselves through superior service and dedication to excellence. Attorney Melissa-Ann Bruett received her award at the Readers’ Choice banquet and awards ceremony on July 11, 2018, which was attended by her colleagues at Bruning & Associates, P.C., her husband, Kyle Bruett, and hundreds of other attendees at Chandler’s Chophouse in Schaumburg, Illinois. 

Attorney Bruett practices in the legal fields of divorce, family law, criminal law and other types of general civil practice.  She serves clients from the Bruning & Associates, P.C. offices in Crystal Lake, Schaumburg and Chicago, Illinois.  Ms. Bruett attended Valparaiso University School of Law and received her undergraduate degree from Nazareth College of Rochester, New York.  Ms. Bruett’s success and proficiency is based upon a strong foundation of diverse experiences. During law school she clerked for the Honorable Judge William E. Alexa of the Porter County Superior Court in Valparaiso, Indiana. Before joining Bruning & Associates PC, she served as an intern for such notable individuals and institutions as U.S. Senator Kristin E. Gillibrand of New York in Washington, DC, The National Group, LLC in Washington, DC, the Illinois Association of School Boards, and Thomson Reuters in Rochester, New York.
