The Illinois Supreme Court recently held that the family of a college freshman who died from alcohol poisoning at a fraternity pledge event involving “vodka-laden hazing” could sue the local chapter of the fraternity, its pledge officers, pledge board members, active fraternity members and certain nonmember sorority women who attended thefraternity event.
