Restore Illinois Phases

by | Jun 16, 2020 | Uncategorized

Governor J.B Pritzker has devised a 5-step plan in order to reopen the state and bring the economy back into better health. The plan is contingent on factors such as regional healthcare availability, and the development of a vaccine or preventable treatment. Each sector of Illinois will be going through phases in different sectors which include Northeast, North-Central, Central, and Southern. As of right now, every region of Illinois is in phase 3 of the 5-step plan. The phases of recovery are described below:

Phase 1: Rapid Spread– The number of COVID-19 cases are increasing rapidly, and the stay at home order was enacted with only essential businesses remaining open.

Phase 2: Flattening– Once the rate of infection (ROI) begins to slow down, the curve begins to flatten and the number of residents in a hospital remains stable despite the increase in ICU beds. If social distancing is not possible in certain situations, face mask coverings are required, and essential gatherings must be only 10 or fewer.

Phase 3: Recovery– Once the rate of infections is declining, required face covering will continue and gatherings of 10 or fewer people can resume. More workplaces will open back up with social distancing and face covering requirements including retail and personal care. There is more testing available to prevent the spread as much as possible.

Phase 4: Revitalization- If the decline continues, restaurants will reopen with safety guidelines as well as schools. Public gatherings of fifty will be permitted.

Phase 5: Illinois Restored– Either a vaccine will be developed, or a treatment option is available to ensure that COVID-19 can not only be treatable, but preventable as well. Large events will be permitted once again, and public health officials will reflect and learn for any future endeavors.

Update: Illinois has the most rapid decrease of COVID-19 cases than any other state!
