Dedication to community service has been a priority at Bruning & Associates, P.C. since 2000 when the firm was first established. The Bruning & Associates, P.C. attorneys and professional legal staff members are passionate about community service and involvement. Each year the entire firm participates in the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services “Race Judicata” – a 5K run/walk event to raise funds for pro bono legal services in the Chicago area. Attorneys and the professional staff members serve as Board members or in other capacities at numerous charitable and not-for-profit organizations such as Rotary clubs, The Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County, and others.
Managing Attorney, Kevin Bruning, and his team, have a passion for helping people, and empathy for those that need representation. Mr. Bruning is an active member of his community. He is a founding member of the Rotary Club Fox Valley Sunset in Crystal Lake, Illinois established in 2012 and was named Rotarian of the Year for the second time in 2017. Mr. Bruning is also involved with several area Chambers of Commerce and includes his staff in many of the local events. Mr. Bruning says, “I believe that it is a privilege to be permitted the opportunity serve others through our businesses and as such every business has an obligation to help their community. Today, more than ever, it is vitally important that the business community be focused on helping people in need.”

Hunger Bowl 2019
Bruning & Associates attorney Kevin Bruning is the MC at the Rotary Club of Fox Valley Sunset 4th Annual Hunger Bowl dedicated to raising funds for the School District 300 Food Pantry. The event was held at the Bowlero bowling center in Algonquin, Illinois on April 27, 2019. More than 125 guests attended and contributed to the fundraising efforts for the D300 food pantry located at Carpentersville Middle School in Carpentersville, IL. The food pantry serves more than 400 families each month. Bruning & Associates participated in the event as a “Strike” level sponsor, and numerous Bruning & Associates Attorneys, Professional Staff, and their families attended the event to support the food pantry. Bruning & Associates and the Rotary Club of Fox Valley Sunset thank CDI Create and Lisa and Clint Filichia for their talented videography and production services to create the video of the event. BACC Annual Dinner and Scholarship Fundraiser
Managing Attorney Kevin Bruning joined business manager Kym Garcia and associate attorneys Jonathan M. Thornton and Andre Ordeanu at the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Scholarship Fundraiser on January 16, 2020. Nearly 200 community, business and governmental leaders join to celebrate achievements and raise money for Chamber programs and the Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship fund through a silent auction. The Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship fund has contributed thousands of dollars to local students trying to build future careers by attending universities, community colleges and certification programs. The BACC provided 8 scholarships to local high school students in 2019! Bruning & Associates, P.C. is honored to support the BACC and its causes.
Bruning & Associates, P.C. Fights for Crystal Lake Teen
Bruning & Associates, P.C.’s Managing Attorney Kevin W. Bruning and Associate Attorneys Nathan Reyes and Melissa-Ann Bruett have offered their professional legal services to Meydi Guzman-Rivas, an 18 year old Crystal Lake high school student facing deportation. Meydi and her father fled Honduras to escape gang violence and were arrested last October for allegedly missing a court hearing months prior. Bruning & Associates, PC and the local community have been fighting for Meydi to be released from federal custody while she awaits her asylum hearing.
